happydoggos
Welcome!
The "happydoggos" project was created in August 2023 with the mission to improve the living conditions of Egyptian street dogs.
We carry out TNR campaigns and form a network with local animal welfare organizations, veterinarians and private individuals to get closer to our goal of harmonious coexistence between humans and animals.
We are still at the very beginning, but we have big plans - so join us on our journey.

26 dogs have already been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed & de-fleaed through our TNR projects. We are grateful to our wonderful happydoggos community, who have made it possible for us to realize these projects with their donations.
The costs amount to approx. 2550 EGP/dog, which is currently the equivalent of approx. 44€ (1:51).

Caramel, Chocolate, Snickers, Milky Way, Shy girl & Husky...
In August 2023, we were lucky to meet six wonderful dogs on the streets of Cairo - Chocolate, Caramel, Milky Way, Snickers, Shy girl and Husky. Admittedly, we weren't very creative in naming them, but we didn't think these dogs would have such a big impact on us.
Over the course of a month, we walked around the neighbourhood with the dogs every evening, exploring the area. We noticed that many people we met were very unsure how to behave towards them. We came up with the idea of creating an Instagram account to introduce the dogs and explain how to behave towards them.
First, however, we wanted to take care of the dogs' basic medical needs.
We had Caramel, Chocolate and Shy girl neutered/sterilised. In addition, all the dogs (except Husky, who unfortunately could not be caught) were dewormed, de-fleaed and vaccinated against rabies.
In January 2024, we returned to Egypt with the mission of caring for 10 more dogs (sterilisation/castration, deworming and vaccination against rabies).
We were able to achieve this goal with the help of our great happydoggos community. Together we raised €400, which went towards basic medical care for Egyptian street dogs.
But this is just the beginning - we have a lot more to do and will keep you up to date on our social media channels and via our newsletter.
